Cryogenic tanks

Cryogenic tanks

Fixed cryogenic tanks are designed for long-term storage of cryogenic liquefied gases under pressure. The inner tank is made of austenitic stainless steel and the outer tank is made of carbon steel. These tanks are designed and built vertically or horizontally and can be used to store LIN, LOX, LAR, LNG, CO2 and N2O.. These tanks have two walls, and vacuum insulation with perlite is used between the two walls.

The maximum allowable pressure of fixed cryogenic tanks for liquid gases such as liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid argon and liquid natural gas depending on the type of application between 2 load up 37 design load and temperature from 196- until the 50 It is degrees Celsius

  • Components of cryogenic tanks for transportation:
  • General symptoms of the system :
  • M1 : The pressure gauge that shows the tank pressure must be below the red mark that represents the MAWP. To prevent pressure build-up, the tank must be emptied or the safety valves opened..
  • DP : (Difference Pressure gage) It shows the volume percentage of the tank. Using the conversion table, it is possible to obtain the equivalent volume in terms of liters or cubic meters for each gas.
  • V50 and V51 : They should be open for easy reading.
  • V52 : It is used for DP control.
  • Share Hi V6 (Trycooks) : To show the liquid level.
  • The liquid level in the tank should not exceed 95% be filled.
  • Share Hi V32 : For gas sampling
  • Share V33 : For liquid sampling
  • V32 and V33 valves must be equipped with Quick Coupling at their ends.
  • V11 : Vacuum control valve. It should be used only by authorized personnel.
